REMEDIAL AND TUTORIAL CLASSES:

Being considered as one of the most difficult subject, Mathematics is not learned by mere lecture process. That is why we as a teacher of mathematics think that it is necessary to conduct remedial and free tutorial classes for students (especially for the students majoring in Mathematics). Remedial classes are meant for the weaker students whereas the tutorial classes are meant to strengthen the mathematics problem-solving skills of students. Since 2003, the department has been conducting these classes and they yielded tremendous results.

PARTICIPATION OF THE TEACHERS IN THE ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL COUNSELING OF THE STUDENTS:-

  • Individual case is taken for different problems faced by students by mentoring and counseling process.
  • Department of Mathematics organized the Madhav Mathematics Competition for the students.

LEARNING SOUIRCES OF THE DEPARTMENT (LIBRARY, COMPUTER, LABORATORIES AND OTHER RESOURCE):-

(a). There are more than 1000 mathematics books in the main library. There is also a departmental library around with 550 books.

(b). There is a laboratory with 22 computers through RUSSA. In view of the increasing use and applications of mathematics in science and technology, especially computer technology, the college felt that it is important to set up a mathematical laboratory for the students studying in mathematics.

(c). Internet facility (broadband) is available in the department.

(d). The teacher-student ratio in the department is 1:30.
